Blog Report - August 2008
I see that many bloggers out there make blog reports. Is it traffic report, income report that doesn’t matter. While I was thinking to write, or not to write the blog report, I thought that this is going to be a good way how to help other people with blogging, and let’s be honest - posts like these attract people and attract comments.
Some of my readers know that I started this blog mid - July, but it was under a different domain name. After 2 weeks I changed the domain to “The Moneyac” because I contacted some really well known people in this field, and they gave me a tip to choose a better brand name, since the blog was pretty new and small, I didn’t lose nothing because of the domain name change. I picked up a domain name aka my brand too soon without any serious brainstorming, this is why I suggest you to read this post about branding.
I would like to add that I’m quite stunned because of the results. They’re pretty good for a month old blog, and I see the potential in this. So here goes my first Blog Report.
TRAFFIC:
- Page Views - 2432
- Total Unique Visitors - 342
- Bandwidth Usage - 320mb
- Average Time/Visit - 3min 40 secs
Traffic Sources:
- Search Engines - 20.25%
- Direct Traffic - 20.55%
- Referring Sites - 59.20%
As you you see then most of my traffic comes from referring sites, which is quite normal for a new blog. And I am quite surprised to see that average time/visit on the blog is more than 3 min. Tools that I use to monitor my website are StatCounter, AwSTATS and Google Analytics. And I want to add that the stats are not buffed up thanks to me. I have banned my IP on all of these traffic tools to see the correct results.
And now the most interesting part - earning stats 
Earnings:
Affiliate/Referral Commissions - $145
Freebies4Webmasters Ads - $40
Matched Ads - $10
Total - $195
Expenses:
My Hostgator package costs $214 per 2 years. If I divide it then it’s around $8/month, and this much I am going to take that as expenses of the blog each month. And I totally recommend hostgator as your hosting, because they have great customer support, and really great control panel and uptime.
TOTAL PROFIT:
$187 - this is really good money for a one month old blog. And I made this on the first month only thanks to that I didn’t put all my eggs in one basket. If you want to know the money makers of this blog, then read the money maker page.
